As a parent of twins, I know that having two babies at once can be a bit of a juggling act. From feeding to traveling, every aspect of taking care of twins can require a great deal of planning and strategizing to make it go as smooth as possible.
Luckily, with our must have items for twins this season, you can make your life a lot easier. These are products that we personally used and loved for our own twins, and we can’t imagine how we’d survive without them.

Here are our top 10 must have items for twins in 2024 (plus 1 bonus item):
1. Twin Stroller
The Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller is the perfect solution for twins. With various seating options, infant car seat adapters, and easy maneuverability, this stroller is perfect for both newborns and toddlers.
I personally have this stroller and love it because it folds up into the most compact footprint of any of the twin strollers on the market. For reference, it can fit into the trunk of a mid-size Chevy Malibu car, with room to spare.
It’s also nice to start out with this style of stroller when your babies are little, because it weighs less than a wagon stroller. You won’t want to be hoisting a wagon into your trunk after giving birth, especially if you have a c-section.
1.5 Infant Car Seats
Our favorite infant car seats are The Graco® SnugRide® SnugLock™ 35 LX. These seats feature a hassle-free installation using either a vehicle seat belt or LATCH.
The LATCH system is a game changer – save yourself time and stress by getting seats that Latch in. TRUST ME. You won’t want anything else.
These infant car seats adapt to the Baby Jogger City Select Double Stroller and make running errands and pediatrician visits a breeze. They come with a removable newborn insert that is perfect for your tiny little babies.
One of our twins was only 4 pounds when we brought her home from NICU. This seat held her perfectly and the nurses raved about it!
2. Wagon
A wagon stroller is bulkier and less compact when folded compared to the Baby Jogger, but there will be several instances where you are going to be thankful you have one – think any outdoor activity – zoo, family vacation, the beach etc.
We have the Wonderfold Wagon W2, but I would opt for the Wonderfold Wagon W4 if you plan on expanding your family after twins, or already have small children.
While there are plenty of other cheaper wagon options on the market, this one is by far the best because its features can’t be beat.
So many other twin moms I know bought the cheaper wagons first to “save money” and ultimately still forked out the cash for the Wonderfold.

3. Twin Nursing Pillow
When it comes to breastfeeding twins, you’ll want a twin nursing pillow.
The Twin Z Pillow is great because it provides ample support for both babies while nursing and doubles as a pillow for them to rest on when they’re not feeding.
But, we personally used the My Brest Friend Double Nursing Pillow specifically for nursing and bottle feeding and loved it. If you have room in your home, we recommend getting both. Here are our reasons why.

4. Hands-Free Breast Pump
If you’re planning to breastfeed and pump for your twins, a hands-free, double rechargeable breast pump is a must-have.
The Elvie Breast Pump is our favorite hands-free pump. But there are less expensive options on Amazon right now that we’d also consider. When you have twins, the last thing you want to be is tethered to a wall.

5. Twin Swaddle Blankets
Swaddling is a great way to soothe babies to sleep, and when it comes to twins, the Love to Dream Swaddle UP is our #1 choice. It’s easy to use, and the two-way zippers make diaper changes a breeze.
No more messy blankets to fuss with, and it’s so easy dads can do it! (Our babies slept so soundly in these!) We called them their “squirrel suits”, because with their arms up, it looked like a cute, little flying squirrel.

6. Bottles
Whether you’re breastfeeding & pumping, or exclusively formula feeding, you’ll want bottles that your babies will love and easily adapt to.
Phillips Avent has natural and anti-colic options (we used both for our babies) and the best part – they are easy to clean without a bunch of parts to assemble.
We ran ours through the dishwasher and used the sanitize cycle, which made cleaning them even faster and easier and also less harsh on your hands!
Tip: Buy enough bottles so that you can make it through a full day of feedings without having to wash them. You can set them out on the counter so they will be ready to fill and go (or pack if you have to leave the house).
We skipped buying the 4oz newborn bottles and went right to the 9 oz size. Our girls had no trouble with them, just buy the nipple flow size that cooresponds to their development stage.
Note: The Philips Avent natural bottle nipples have a different shape than the Philips Avent anti-colic bottle nipples. So make sure you buy the correct nipples for the bottles you select.

7. Twin Diaper Bag
I bought a cute, designer diaper bag when we first found out we were expecting twins. After they arrived – I ditched that cute little bag for something bigger, more practical, and one that my husband wouldn’t mind carrying. In fact, he picked it out.
It’s called the HighSpeedDaddy Baby Diaper Bag Backpack PLUS Diaper Changing Mat & Organizers.
And while it’s not girly, it IS the best bag ever. Trust me on this.
It comes with a changing pad insert and it’s big enough that I’ve actually carried my laptop in that bag along with all of my twins’ stuff. The best part–it’s a backpack. We take ours everywhere.
You can clip things onto the outside of it. Look at all those loops! It also has padded straps. Think military bag. Dads will LOVE to help you carry this thing. It currently comes in six colors.

8. Split Screen, Double Camera Baby Monitor
We recommend the Moonybaby Split Screen 55 Baby Monitor with two cameras for your twins.
This monitor does not have wi-fi, which we prefer, to avoid any risk of hackers. And, if you travel you don’t have to worry about being able to connect to a network. It works anywhere!
With temperature monitoring, pan-tilt-widescreen views, night vision, 2-way talk back and long range capabilities, this monitor has been our favorite since day one.

9. Twin Bassinet Pack n Play
A playard is a great way to keep your twins safe and contained when you need to get things done. The Baby Trend Retreat Twins Nursery Center comes with two removable bassinets, electronic music, nightlight, and removable changing table.
This is actually what we used for our bassinets for our twins in place of a separate bassinet, because once the newborn stage is over, this Baby Trend Nursery Center can be used as a pack n play.
The bassinets can be picked up and easily moved around your house if you’d like your babies to be in a different room with you while they nap. (Perfect solution for traveling too)

10. Swing(s)
One thing that saved our sanity and helped our babies nap better is the Graco Simple Sway Swing. This swing doesn’t have a gigantic footprint, which is nice, since I recommend getting two.
We also had a travel swing – the Ingenuity Compact Lightweight Portable Baby Swing with Music, Nature Sounds and Battery-Saving Technology.
I recommend having two swings total, one for each baby. Both of our girls ended up loving to swing. And they would always want to swing simultaneously.
