Forget all that postpartum meal prep nonsense while you’re 35 weeks pregnant, cankled up, swollen and uncomfortable.
You can ditch the dependence on family members or friends to come deliver homemade casserole dinners to your door. (I’m not saying turn them down if they do!) But sometimes, family and friends don’t live nearby.
Now, there is a better way to “meal prep” and plan ahead for your postpartum days and you’ll barely have to lift a finger!
I’m talking about a meal delivery service that brings fresh meals to your door every week that you can put directly into your new smart oven and have on your table in 15-20 minutes.
No, it’s not Hello Fresh or any of those services that still require you to prep your ingredients. If I wanted to do that I’d just find a recipe and go make it all myself.
Which I don’t. I hate cooking.
I don’t enjoy finding recipes and figuring out if I have all the right ingredients. And I especially despise forgetting to buy one of the key ingredients at the store.
I feel like the time it takes to cut all the ingredients up and turn them into a meal is a waste of my time that could be better spent elsewhere. And let’s not forget all the time it takes to clean up after cooking a meal and then once again after eating it.
It’s like you never get to leave the kitchen!! And with newborn twins, ain’t no mama got time (or energy) for that!!
Luckily, my husband actually discovered a better way for us to handle all of this back in 2020 when our babies were born.
It was Black Friday, and as all good Facebook ads do, one came across his phone after we had just been talking out loud about meal planning. The ad was for the Tovala oven.
It was a new kind of smart oven that scans the barcodes or QR codes on packages or the meals they send in their subscriptions, and it intuitively knows the right temperature and settings to cook your food so you get perfect results every time.
The food comes fresh. It’s prepped. It’s ready to go.
Just open the meals, pop them in the oven and click a button. Boom. And with 6 meal orders, the Tovala oven itself is only $49 😱 We were so excited.

Second of all, we already knew we wanted the meals to solve our postpartum meal prep problems, so the fact it requires you to order 6 weeks worth was really fine by us!
It’s now almost Black Friday 2024, and I’m still using the Tovala and meal subscriptions as a way to save my time and my sanity.
My family loves them, they’re delicious, and healthy for you. Fresh ingredients – the chicken literally comes as a raw piece of chicken to be cooked. With fresh seasonings and vegetables. A wide variety of meal selections makes it possible for us all to enjoy it.
Many other items you buy at the store can also be scanned and it will automatically know how to cook them. So smart. But, even if it doesn’t you can still enter the temperature and time to cook, manually, and it does just fine!
Want to try it out for yourself? Seriously, for $49 you can’t go wrong…
