One of my frustrations when planning for twins was not knowing what I needed.
A baby registry for twins didn’t exist.
The majority of websites and blogs are geared toward moms of singletons.
A twin pregnancy is not the same as a singleton pregnancy. We need special accommodations that singleton parents don’t, especially once the babies are born.
So that’s why Twin Baby Registry® was created! We are the best twin pregnancy blog to help you plan for your twins.
At the heart of Twin Baby Registry is the unwavering commitment to make planning for twins an enjoyable and stress-free experience.
As twin parents, we recognized the need for a dedicated resource that caters exclusively to the needs of families expecting twins.
Our mission is to empower parents, reduce the overwhelm, and amplify the excitement of planning for two.
Our motto is: Planning for two-can be so much fun!™ That’s what we aim to do.
To navigate this journey successfully, you need the right information, the best advice, support, and guidance. That’s where the Twin Baby Registry® blog comes into play.
In this post, we will explore what you can learn from following the Twin Baby Registry blog, and why it should stand out as the ultimate resource to help you plan for twins. So, let’s begin the journey of discovery together.

Why we are the Best Twin Pregnancy Blog To Guide You on Your Journey
1. Resources for Identical Twins and Fraternal Twins
The first step in planning for twins is understanding the type of twins you’re expecting. Are they identical twins or fraternal twins? How can you tell the difference?
This knowledge is essential because it can influence various aspects of your pregnancy and twin parenting journey. It can put you at high risk for TTTTS among other things. Understanding your type of multiple pregnancy can help avoid potential risks and influence prenatal care considerations.
Identical twin pregnancies usually involve a shared placenta and develop from one egg that splits during early growth stages to form two embryos.
Fraternal twin pregnancies, on the other hand, develop when there are two different eggs that are fertilized by two different sperm and they will usually have their own separate placentas.
Fraternal twins will not have the exact same DNA, although, like other siblings, they can be expected to share some of the traits they inherit from both parents. [American Pregnancy Association]
Your doctor can determine which kind of twins you’re having by examining the placenta. The best way to be most certain, is by having a DNA test. Many twin parents will wait to do this until after their babies are born and their features start to develop.
If you are a new twin mom facing any challenges or risk of complications, it is important to ask your Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor (MFM), to determine whether or not your twins are identical or fraternal.
This can help spot twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTTS) early on, around 12 weeks, if your twins appear at risk.
We will share more articles on the blog discussing these two important distinctions.
2. Guidance for Every Trimester with Twins
A twin pregnancy is divided into three distinct trimesters, just like singleton pregnancies. Each trimester comes with its unique set of changes and challenges.
Whether you’re in the first trimester, second trimester, or third trimester, the Twin Baby Registry blog provides invaluable guidance.
Learn about the physical and emotional changes you can expect, as well as tips and advice to help you stay comfortable and healthy throughout each trimester. Click here to read about my own experiences through each trimester with twins.
The first trimester usually starts with an at home pregnancy test. If it was like mine, it was a resounding yes! I was definitely pregnant.
My positive pregnancy test was irrefutable. Those two little pink lines were as bright as could be. Perhaps our pregnancy hormone is just that much stronger with two babies!
In the blog, we’ll offer tips to overcome morning sickness, lower back pain, deal with breast tenderness, and all the other fun twin pregnancy symptoms usually experienced in the first trimester.
The second trimester is an exciting time for most, and is when I got all of my nesting done. I’ll share tips and a personal glimpse into how I organized our nursery and prepped our hospital bag.
By the 28th week of pregnancy, I had my hospital bag packed and ready to go. Since a large majority of twin pregnancies result in preterm labor, I wanted to be prepared in case I didn’t make it to a full-term pregnancy. Get our hospital packing list, here!
The third trimester might be met with its own challenges, including swelling, weight gain (to be expected), and high blood pressure. We’ll help point out what to watch for in case you start showing signs of preeclampsia.
3. Creating a Twin Baby Registry® list
The biggest goal of Twin Baby Registry is to make the process of planning for two babies easy and stress free.
Our pre-tailored baby registry comes fully designed with items hand-picked by twin moms, for twin moms. Tried and tested! All you need to do is sign up and start sharing with your family and friends.
If you’d like to customize any of the items we’ve hand-selected for you, just remove them from your list. You can also add any baby items you’d like from any store.
I’ve spend countless hours doing my own research and testing out baby products that work for twin life.
So, if you’re a pregnant twin mama who feels overwhelmed just thinking about planning for what you need, this registry is designed for you.

4. Personal Journeys and Birth Stories
One of the most compelling aspects of the Twin Baby Registry blog is its dedication to sharing personal journeys and birth stories. We will be adding more as we can.
I share my own personal birth story on the blog and talk about it even more in depth within the private twin mom community.
These stories provide a heartfelt and authentic look into the lives of parents who have experienced the joys and challenges of raising twins.
Reading these stories can be not only informative but also reassuring, especially for first-time parents of twins.
5. Expert Advice on Prenatal Care
Prenatal care is of paramount importance during a twin pregnancy.
The Twin Baby Registry blog offers expert advice on prenatal care specifically tailored to twin pregnancies.
Learn about recommended tests, screenings, dietary considerations, and exercise routines that are essential for ensuring the health and well-being of both you and your twins.
Lydia Lane, from Busy Mom Fit, is here to help us. She’ll be guest writing articles on topics of exercise, healthy and quick mom-meal recipes, and mental health.
6. Support for High-Risk Pregnancies
Twin pregnancies are categorized as higher risk due to them being a multiple pregnancy and/or having pre-existing health conditions. But, this doesn’t mean that you will automatically have complications. In the medical world, it just means they like to monitor us often and more closely.
If you find yourself in this category like most expecting twin moms do, the Twin Baby Registry blog provides essential information and support to navigate the unique challenges associated with high-risk pregnancies.
We emphasize the importance of regular check-ups and close monitoring to ensure the best possible outcome for you and your twins. This might even include weekly doctor’s appointments as the time grows near to your due date.
Being comfortable with your MFM doctor is imperative. If you feel like you need a second opinion based on what a doctor is recommending, don’t be afraid to find a new doctor and get one. We had to do this with our own MFM doctor.
7. Guidance for First-Time Twin Parents
Being a first-time parent is a transformative experience in itself, but being a first-time parent of twins adds an extra layer of excitement and apprehension.
The Twin Baby Registry blog offers guidance specifically tailored to first-time twin parents. (We were first-timers too!)
From setting up a twin-friendly nursery to preparing mentally and emotionally for the journey ahead, we’ve got you covered.
New twin moms can even join the Twin Baby Registry support group for a twin mom community to lean on.
8. Celebrating the First Year
The first year with twins is a whirlwind of diaper changes, feedings, and precious moments. The Twin Baby Registry blog is there to celebrate the milestones and challenges of that crucial first year.
We provide tips on managing sleep schedules, introducing solids, and creating a routine that works for you and your twins.
It’s important to prioritize your own mental health and self care, too. Especially if this is your first time having a baby. It’s a huge life change.
The most important thing I had to learn as a new twin mom, was how to give myself grace.
Your energy levels may not bounce back immediately, especially if you have a cesarean section. A cesarean birth is a major surgery. Pair that with trying to care for two babies for the first time and it’s bound to be exhausting.
We have emotional and mental health support resources available, here. Do not be ashamed or afraid to reach out for help.
And we cannot stress enough the importance of having a community of moms to lean on. It takes a twin mom village!
